- Christmas Lights Switch On: On Thursday 23rd November from 6pm, Marble Quay will be the first place visitors will be able to see St Katharine Docks’ Christmas makeover. Renowned actor and Docks resident David Suchet, best known for his role as Agatha Christie’s Poirot, will light up the night as the marina is transformed by sparkling lights and a dazzling display of decorations. Mulled wine and mince pies will be available to accompany music from the City Chamber Choir, performing Christmas carols that are sure to sprinkle the holiday spirit across the Docks.
- Floating Film Festival: St Katharine Docks opens its jam-packed cinema calendar from Monday 4th to Sunday 10th December, screening a selection of the best Christmas classics on the water atop its unique floating pontoon. The popular programme of festive films returns this year, with guests invited to grab a blanket and snuggle up on beanbags to watch their favourite movie masterpieces, including Home Alone, Love Actually, The Holiday and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Heaters and blankets are provided to keep guests cosy, alongside winter warmers like mince pies, mulled wine and hot chocolate.
- Christmas Food Market: The holiday cheer continues on the 8th and 15th of December, as the Friday World Food Market enjoys a festive twist in partnership with Epicurean Events. Food traders, used to serving some of the capital’s best street food, will offer Christmas culinary treats alongside their unique dishes, as the Capital Concert Brass Band and the City Chamber Choir perform live from 12-2pm to brighten up those crisp winter afternoons. Visitors can enjoy rum tasting and purchase handcrafted gift sets from award-winning Pirates Grog, one of the UK’s leading boutique rum companies. As well as a traditional menu, premium Christmas cocktails, Rum Hot Chocolate and Mulled Rum Cider will be available to toast the festive cheer this year.
